This project is located in the historical preservation area of Hunan Road in Xuhui District, Shanghai, surrounded by a serene and pleasant environment. The renovation involves adjusting the original building’s functions, redesigning its facade, and implementing necessary structural reinforcements. The facade design focuses on achieving a clean aesthetic that harmonizes with the neighboring low-rise residences. Red sandstone is used in a folded plate form to "wrap" the building’s roof and walls together. Great attention is given to transitions between shapes and the continuous use of refined decorative elements, resulting in a cohesive, minimalist, rhythmically engaging, high-quality modern building.
