The project site is located at 88 Changshu Road, Jing'an District, Shanghai. The north side borders a high-rise serviced apartment, while the west and south sides are adjacent to 3-5 story residential buildings, with a 3-story commercial building directly to the south. The project design involves renovations within the existing building’s contour limits.
The facade adopts a modern style, emphasizing a simple, elegant look for a modern office building. The design focuses on the treatment of the building's exterior, highlighting horizontal lines as a compositional method. The integration of solid and void elements and the installation of a framework accentuate the primary presence of the east facade. The framework strengthens the connection between solid and void spaces, enhancing the unity between the north and east facades.
Metal louvers are installed to reduce direct sunlight penetration indoors and enrich the roof’s form, adding a contemporary feel. For materials, the exterior walls combine panels and glass, using gray-white pure aluminum panels. This variation in material and texture enhances the facade’s visual richness. The design of details, such as the curtain wall divisions and entrances, emphasizes a unified approach with harmonious proportions.
