Making the Most of a Small Space" with Complete Functional Design
The primary design approach focuses on meeting the emotional needs of elderly residents and fostering connections between the elderly and society. This includes caring for their physical needs, understanding their preferences, and offering compassionate design tailored for senior living. The site is small and shaped like a knife handle, so every corner and space is maximized to fulfill needs for living, dining, transportation, nursing, and rehabilitation services.
In particular, senior rooms are placed on the southern and southwestern sides of the site for optimal sunlight and maximum width, while nursing and auxiliary rooms are mainly located on the northern and northeastern sides.
Forty Senior-Friendly Design Details for Maximum Care
This project is dedicated to providing living, medical, wellness, rehabilitation, and nursing services for seniors who may be mobility-impaired, self-sufficient, semi-independent, or living with dementia. Guided by a "people-first" philosophy, the design considers the behavioral traits of this age group, focusing on entry pathways, bedrooms, kitchens, bathrooms, in-room lighting, interior features, and facilities. The design ensures reasonable layout, clear and accessible traffic.
