The project is located in Liangzhu Cultural Village, Hangzhou, close to Fengqing Avenue. Buildings such as residences, commercial facilities, and museums have been built in the surrounding area in advance, with complete living facilities and superior natural resources. The total area of the project is approximately 85,000 square meters, making it a relatively high-end elderly apartment product.
The planning concept of the project is mainly reflected in three aspects. Firstly, the spatial design is determined by behavioral patterns. Based on the characteristics of an aging society and respecting the behavioral pattern that the elderly prefer to live in groups, the concept of "group" has been introduced to create a place suitable for the elderly to live together. Secondly, combined with the characteristics of the mountainous area, it conforms to the terrain and pays attention to barrier-free design. The design divides the terrain that is higher in the west and lower in the east into several terraces, and utilizes the height differences of the terraces to form a rich skyline that cascades along the mountain. Meanwhile, the height differences are used to set up supporting public buildings and underground garages. On the one hand, this reduces the amount of excavation, and on the other hand, it maximizes the utilization of landscape resources. Thirdly, the design of the "cross-shaped courtyard" is utilized to connect various landscape spaces and functional spaces in series and link them with each residential group.
Taking into account the traditional concepts and the way of elderly people in China preferring to age at home, this project adopts the design of home-based elderly care residential units. It mainly consists of two types of suites, namely one-bedroom-one-living-room-one-bathroom and two-bedroom-two-living-room-one-bathroom. There are four households sharing one elevator, and each suite has two bays facing south. The design focuses on creating a living atmosphere for the elderly, using various spaces such as squares, inner courtyards, and corridors to shape a life experience that is full of changes and warm and pleasant.
