Songjiang Archives
Songjiang Archives
Project Address: Songjiang District, Shanghai
Building Area: 19,000 square meters
Construction Unit: Songjiang District Archives, Shanghai
The project is located in the new city of Songjiang, adjacent to the administrative office complex of Songjiang District on the eastern side of the site. With a total building area of approximately 19,000 square meters, it serves as a national first-level archives facility that integrates five functions: a patriotism education base, an archives safety storage base, an archives utilization service center, a government information disclosure center, and an electronic document management center.
The eastern side of the site features a natural waterway with beautiful scenery. The building’s courtyard opens toward the waterway, bringing the river view inside and creating a pleasant and romantic environment that harmonizes people with nature. The western side faces a noisy urban road, so the building layout utilizes existing trees as a barrier to isolate noise, aiming to create a quiet and elegant space. The upper building space adopts the traditional Chinese courtyard concept of “Four Waters Returning to the Hall.”
