The project is located at the intersection of South Xizang Road and Xietu Road. It was originally a public housing with shared coal and toilet facilities built in the 1960s. The original building structure had reached the limit of inclination, and the outer wall facade had become aged and damaged, seriously affecting the appearance along South Xizang Road, a major urban artery.
The renovation plan is based on lightweight design to reduce the weight of the outer wall and enhance the aesthetics of the outer facade on the premise of ensuring safety. The stone-like texture paint, combined with the horizontally and vertically lined columns and beams for structural reinforcement, forms matrix-style square windows, creating a sense of order and rhythm, and redefining and forming the compositional texture of the outer facade. The light and dark gray exterior wall materials give the building a "high-class gray" fashionable look, which is more in line with modern aesthetics and has a contemporary flavor. The brand-new building appearance after completion is particularly eye-catching on the bustling streets of Huangpu.
In terms of functional configuration, we have not only designed public activity areas such as a coffee area, a reading area, a computer gaming area, and a gymnasium where young people can communicate with each other, but also functional service areas such as a reception area, a laundry room, and a courier pick-up and drop-off area to enhance the living comfort. In terms of room layout, in line with the preferences and living habits of today's young people, more attention is paid to the combination of practicality and fashion in the details. In terms of home functions, comfort and warmth are emphasized, integrating the practicality and convenience of minimalism.
