UCENTER Shortlisted for 2022 WAF World Architecture Festival Awards
Recently, the World Architecture Festival (WAF), often hailed as the “Oscar of the Architecture World,” officially announced the shortlist for its 2022 WAF Awards. The mixed-use complex “UCENTER·SHANGHAI” (Wanyuan Chengkai Center), designed by Shanghai ZF Architects, has been nominated in the “Completed Buildings: Mixed Use” category. The project has also been invited to the WAF 2022 Festival, taking place from November 30 to December 2 in Lisbon, Portugal, where it will compete against global architectural giants such as Foster + Partners and MVRDV for top honors.
The World Architecture Festival (WAF), established in 2008, is the world’s largest and most prestigious architectural awards program, dedicated to fostering global exchange and innovation in architecture. Held annually in different countries, WAF recognizes both outstanding completed buildings and visionary unbuilt projects. The 2022 edition, themed “Together,” will explore how architecture responds to collective living in the post-pandemic era and addresses global challenges like climate change.
This nomination highlights Shanghai ZF Architects’ exceptional design capabilities and international influence, showcasing their ability to create spaces that resonate with contemporary societal needs while pushing architectural boundaries.
